We designed a glass railing that would rise up from a height of 36″ to a height of 72″ and serve as a wind block when needed. The customer had a concept and we developed it into a working prototype. Once we had the prototype working we were able to work out all of the bugs and build the actual railing. The posts were made of an inner and outer stainless post with bronze bushings. The lifting was accomplished with the use of hydraulic rams. The posts were mounted in stainless boxes with leveling nuts, all of the hydraulic lines ran thru conduit buried in the concrete deck. The deck was a canteliver style with a brick top layer. This railing consisted of eight posts with qty seven pieces of fixed glass and qty seven pieces of movable glass. Driveway gates now or later?

So you are doing a landscape remodeling job at your house and you want driveway gates but can’t fit them into your current budget. You can always do the gates later but if you do some of the prep work while you are doing the current project it will save you a lot of money down the road. You should get all of the underground work done such as the conduits from the house for power and phone, the safety and free exit loops and the grade beam for the columns. These items are a small part of the cost of the whole job but could cost much more if you have to pull up the driveway or dig into the landscape at a later date. If you are thinking of doing gates and aren’t sure what to do just give us a call and we can come out and talk it over with you.

DoorKing 1812 Plus a must have

We installed the new access plus Doorking last week with great success. Unlike the elite units we installed last year this one is very user friendly. Once installed we entered the IP address and other pertinent info into the key pad at the unit. We were then able to log on remotely from a laptop connected to the internet. From the laptop it was just a few minutes until the entire system was programmed and the customer did it all himself. I think from this point on we will suggest this system as a must have upgrade, thank you Doorking.

Doorking’s new 1812 plus

Doorking has come out with its new computer programmable telephone entry systems. These new units are available in the standard case, flush mount unit and the new curved top unit. These units are networked to an IP address and are programmable thru the internet. We have a current job that is going to utilize these units, after I install them I will let you know how they work.
